Tenmangu Japanese Shrine Pop-up Papercraft Template
This template allows you to build a pull-tab-activated pop-up paper toy initially designed by Utagawa Yoshifuji in mid-19th-century Japan, that I reworked and recreated for all to enjoy and craft.
The download-able file entails a presentation sheet in English and French, two sets of templates (one large, one small, for large and small home printers) and a link to a step-by-step, real-time tutorial video.
Original papercraft size = 75 x 174 mm (approx. 2.95 x 6.85 in) closed. Can be down/upsized.
This is a digital item: a home printer is necessary. Please contact me if you have a problem with the download of the template after purchase. Note that some ad-blockers and very tight browser security settings may interfere. For private (non-commercial) use only.
This is the fully-crafted version of this pull-tab-activated pop-up paper toy initially designed by Utagawa Yoshifuji in mid-19th-century Japan, that I reworked and recreated for all to enjoy. I handcut and handcraft this physical version myself, on quality 140 gsm matte photo paper.
Size = 75 x 174 mm (approx. 2.95 x 6.85 in) closed.
At the crossing of paper engineering and decorative arts, it is a movable design object, a uniquely shaped pop-up, an elegant flower that unfolds in one movement and finds its place where and wherever you are.
Each flower is patiently crafted by the artist in his Parisian workshop. ca. 7 x 14 cm (2.8 x 5.5 in) closed, h-18 x l-6 x L-12 cm ( h-7 x l-2.4 x L-4.7 in) opened. 210 & 300-gsm paper. Monogrammed by the artist.
Night Bloom is available in three different sets of colors: blue and white, black and white, or pink and green.
