Our first self-published pop-up book is a fine, original (and perfectly harmless) Haunted House-ish pop-up book, all in black and white, all laser-cut!

Hardcover book (7.5 x 20 x 2.5 cm / 2.7 x 7.9 x 1 in), with 8 pop-up spreads and one movable element on the inside cover, all in laser-cut black paper mounted on printed white paper.
Text in French. Loose sheet with translation in English. 500 copies printed, all numbered by the artist.

in which the book is housed in a lavish, very colorful, laser-cut slipcase that glows in the dark (phosphorescent silkscreen printing) and comes with two extras: a separate copy of the Cursed Tree pop-up spread and a laser-cut proof of the cover illustration, both titled and monogramed by hand by the artist.

The style of the poem that serves as a narrative is a tribute of sorts to Edward Gorey, one of our all-time favorite authors-illustrators.
In the original artwork from which this book was born, there were also two extra alternative endings, one in which the reader joined the rowdy crew of the Tower of Horrors, and another in which the reader came face to face with the master of the Tower and met the same fate as in the final version. 🍽
